What is AYP?

AYP - Adequate Yearly Progress

The Michigan Department of Education annually makes a determination of AYP for all public elementary, middle schools, and high schools in Michigan. The AYP evaluates schools and school districts in the areas of academic achievement, participation in state assessment, graduation rate for high schools and student attendance. The AYP is a yardstick for "Excellent Schools".

The Board of Education and Administration are pleased to announce that Akron-Fairgrove Schools has obtained AYP in both the Elementary and Jr/Sr High.This report is available to parents, citizens, teachers, and school administrators to learn how a school is performing and improving.
